Queer-Friendly Group Dance Classes
We offer partner-based group classes (semi-privates) as well as traditional group classes. Let us explain the difference.
Partner-Based Group Classes (Semi-Private): Partner Required
Stay and learn with your partner! In these small classes, capped at 4 couples, you will stay and learn at the pace that is right for you and your partner. The instructor will move around and teach each couple at whatever point they are learning. Whether you sign up for a four week course, or purchase a drop-in package to allow for more flexibility, you will be able to progressively learn any style you join.
Cost: $220/couple for a 4 week course. $80/couple for a drop-in.

Workshops, DanceSport, and Social Classes: No Partner Required
We offer a variety of ways for you to learn even without a partner. Our Crash Course workshop is twice a month on the first and second Saturday. Learn a fun grouping in a new style of dance each time. These workshops start from the very beginner level and work their way up over a 2 hour long class.
Looking for a more technical approach? The DanceSport classes are a great way to really dive deep into the mechanics of each dance. We focus on the American style of dancing and offer these classes on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons.
Dancing should be a fun social activity and so we hold monthly Socials to welcome in any level of dancer to our studio. The night starts with a group class followed by 2 hours of open dancing. These are a great way to meet new people and practice the fun things you’ve learned! We also offer weekly Social Classes for Salsa and Swing.
Gay Ballroom & Ballroom Dance Chicago are committed to offering a safe space where any person can be themself. We do not restrict lead or follow roles by gender and welcome anyone to try anything they want to in any class.
